As most of you know, it was windy along the Oregon Coast this year. We had a little mishap with our car door on Sunday. The good news is it will only cost us $100 deductible. We are getting a new quarter panel and door hinges!

Thats too bad!, we have a GC also and my wife opened the door on a windy night with similar results (not quite as bad).
What are you getting for gas mileage with yours (towing/not towing) I notice you have the 4.7L engine, we have the 5.7L I was curious in the difference in mpg.

Bob, the same thing happened to Nancy and me the very first time we vacationed on the Oregon coast 15 years ago. it damaged the door so bad, that we had to use only one door the rest of the trip. :\
Thanks for more pictures.
BTW Nancy has posted a few more pictures on the blog here. Go take a look, if you haven't already.

Rob M,
Ouch! You bring up another sore subject. We get 20 mpg on the interstate (not towing) and are lucky to get 12 towing the Bigfoot. For comparison, we got 13-14 towing our Casita. The 4.7 needs to be "wound-up" to get much torque, unlike other Jeeps we've had. Despite thin sheet metal and the low towing mileage, we really like the GC! It's time to change the spark plugs. Maybe that will help.

We just came back from Tenn. with the Jeep (no trailer) averaged 17mpg at 75-85mph all the way home.
I just had the dealer install spark plugs, same mpg. I suppose we would get better mileage if we slowed down
This is our 5th Jeep, it has been like the others, completely trouble free, but I dislike the seats (too hard) and the lack of adjustment on the passenger compared to previous years, but I do love the auto high beams at night and tow mode for trans.
Have you ever weighed the Bigfoot? how does it pull at Hwy speeds.
