someone has to explore Bullards for me!

I met someone a couple weeks ago that asked if I had seen the cemetery within Bullards Beach SP. I told her "No, I didn't even know it was there".

OK, so I am always the last to know...

I googled it, and sure enough.. the Bullard family cemetery is there.. but no specific location or directions to get to it.

Supposedly, there is a trail on the north side of C Loop that leads up to it. She could not be any more specific than that. Said she was wandering there one day and stumbled across it.

Who wants to go look for it for me?

Who has actually SEEN it before?

Pictures if you find it! It'll be like a low tech Geo Cache!

Cemetery records show who when etc..

but they don't show WHERE.

I think it would be fun if someone found it.

The woman I talked to said even the park rangers weren't aware it was there.. but.. thats not saying much..

Hey, it's something to do on a long afternoon!

For those that are really geocachers there is a geocache in the cemetery. It ID number is GC1DYDJ. More information and be found at geocaching.com. The coordinates are N 43° 09.296 W 124° 23.813, which are 75 ft. from those on map of Gina's last link.

Now to talk Linda and Dale to go find that cache and take some pictures of the cemetery.

LOL!

One of those actually exists, but just of my head. Every year when we do the company picture, Either I or my boss is traveling.. and the guy that takes the pic is in our dept.. SO.. he made heads for all of us. Whichever one is here has to hold his head and the missing persons head on a stick up so we will be in the picture.

Whats great is we never age.

OK, how about a contest with a Crumby prize?

Pick a time to start the search for all participants..Take 8 1/2 X 11 cards/papers with you. Write your name on them and when you find the cemetery, write the time on them and prop on old Man Bullards headstone. (BULLARD, Lawrence ~ 12 Dec 1891 - 27 Oct 1918)

Take a picture.. earliest time wins..

A Fender Keychain! Woo Hoo!

Be honest now!

We won't be there until tomorrow afternoon either. I plan to go to the cemetery in the afternoon since that is as soon as our plans let us. I'm game to have others tag along too if someone wants to go. We could make this a real outing. Finding the original Bullards.

What a fun project! We learned about the Bullard cemetery last year during a program presented by a group of local history buffs in the Big Yurt, but weren't able to take the hike. I'd like to go along with Linda, if it is a time when I'm not committed to working the registration tables. You'll be with us in spirit, Gina! Ahhh, it's so nice to be here at last and you and others will surely be missed! LdB

Hey you 2 yolks in the "Geezer egg". Ann & Kurt K. say howdy!
Please say hello to all our Applewhite and HeartBar friends!

Along with Gina, we also are not able to attend Bandon this year. Ann is still treasuring the "Lighthouse Quilt" raffle prize she won there 2 years ago.

A wedding in the family on the 19th conflicts. We'd hoped to finish about a 4000+ mile jaunt by winding up in Bandon. The wedding, the Calif. wild fires, and the increased cost of gas limited our travels. We managed 6 weeks, and 3700 miles for an absolutely trouble-free trip.We visited nearly all the intended friends and relatives except those living along the Hwy 5 "smoke belt".

Bandon was going to be the "icing on the cake" for this year's trip, but maybe in 2009 if gas hasn't reached $6/gal. and our budget has recovered from the fuel charged on the plastic card this trip.

We pray that everyone has a marvelous experience and returns home safe and sound with glorious memories!!!

In anticipation of the news about the NOG highlights,
Kurt & Ann K.

Rub it in! LOL!

OK, ya gotta be fair! Everyone.. same start time and place.. like a scavenger hunt.

How about the Bathrooms at B Loop.. in front of the paper stands/parking area at 4 pm? Thursday!

OR... it doesn't look too hard in the terrain aspect.. how about AT NIGHT!!!! It is a cemetery, after all.

Oh fun! Grown men and women running around with flashlights and LCD screens...in the dark... yay!

A Fender bunper sticker goes to the first person to photograph a banana slug on the hunt!

Sorry Gina, the nights are for beer exchanges, roasted peeps, and mexican trains. We will be going Wednesday after the packets are packed and Nancy says there is no more to do, because that is the free time we have. Wish you were here.

Maybe we will see you in Septemeber.

Yep. It's not hidden. The park officials all know about it because they maintain it. The entrance is directly across from the dump station. (I know, I know.) There is a wooden archway entrance and a chipped wood path to it. Lorn went yesterday and took pictures with my camera of the gate and each of the headstones. I can send them to you if you want.
