1962 Fahti In Canada

Hello,

I just purchased this 1962 Fahti 600 and was wondering if anyone had any info on them in North America. I am trying to figure out value and if the is a market for it. I think I would like to sell it.

Thanks!!
Brian

Is that mold or a weird paint job on the outside?

sorry, can't supply any answers for ya, but had to ask about the exterior.

Judging from the reflective tape on the exterior and the looks of the interior, this was somebody's hunting shack or ice fishing hut (note the floor cutout). So probably somebody's idea of camo paint.

Good luck on the sale. A starting point might be to check out sale prices of other European trailers in North America. Eribas and Cadets come to mind. Since this is a complete gut and restore, I wouldn't expect to turn a great profit...

It looks like Fahti was made in Germany until 1968 and then taken over by a Dutch Firm.

The firm was BIOD and manufacturing moved to Holland. I have the similar model, 1975. You can see pics under my Trilliumdon profile here.

Given overall poor condition and the total interior gut, I can't see it selling for more than $1,000. Still worth saving. Someone might want a blank canvas to make everything their own. Yes, at a low price point, there will be a market for it.

Hi Brian

Did you purchase the trailer and resell it already?

Wow! Thanks for this. My first thought when I saw the pics was "sure looks like a BIOD."
