1971 FG-16 Starting Renovation

Hi there! I just got a 1971 FG-16. We already started gutting it, and due to water and rodent damage it will be a complete clean out and rebuild inside!
The outside fiberglass is in good shape minus a few chips, but all of the emblems are gone and the rock shield is missing as well. Any recommendations on websites or scrap yards? We may need to replace the door too, but we're hoping to save it with some fiberglass repair and hardware replacement.

HI and welcome to the forum!

For a vast collection of new and old RV hardware and materials, check out Bontrager's Surplus in White Pigeon, Michigan.

That door is unique to the FG-16, and there are very few remaining FG-16's. So you will likely have to restore it.

It looks like you've got all of the windows & doors which is a big help on the fg-16. Replacements windows would be a custom size order & that means a big expense. This is a good time to upgrade/modernize systems such as your power supply, fridge, furnace etc. Things that you need like the rock guard you'll need to be creative & adapt something from another camper or fabricate your own. Good luck with your project!
