Smile 1973 Hunter (New to the site)

Hello fellow campers, The wife and I just upgraded from a vintage teardrop trailer to this 1973 Hunter Compact ll. After doing research for a bit and wanting something that weighed about the same as our teardrop and wasn't much longer than a teardrop we came to the conclusion of these Hunter brand trailers. We found our trailer in Santa Anna Ca and brought it home about 2 weeks ago and immediately started the revamp of our new project. My wife wanted to make a introduction short film and we uploaded it to YouTube for any and all to check out because we noticed there wasn't many for the Hunter Compacts. Again thank you for the opportunity to share and new project with the group and I am really excited with all the helpful tips this site has to offer.

Nice find. I always love seeing one of the vintage trailers back in service. We all look forward to more pics and reports on upgrades and restores.
And welcome to the forum.

Congratulations on your new trailer find. They are nice trailers; I have one.
Enjoyed your video, too.
I did a complete renovation to mine because it had a lot of water damage. It spent many years in wet Washington state, and rain had gotten in through a vent opening in the roof. So it was moldy and smelly in there.
Have fun working on yours. It looks to be in pretty nice shape.

Hi Nick. That is a very nice little camper. We love ours. Three days ago I removed our top to replace the fabric. Have you located a source for a new (canvas?) top?

Congratulations on your new project! I'll be following your progress. My partner and I brought a Hunter home a couple weeks ago, but will probably wait about a year before getting into the modifications. Looking forward to seeing the changes you make to your trailer.
