Hey Everyone,
Tried to make a post yesterday but I guess its still waiting for approval, so I thought I might just add to this feed.
Separated the fiberglass shell from the trailer yesterday and moved it on to our deck so that we have a somewhat level area to start framing the inside of it over the next week.
Thought I'd give a quick update with some photos.

Now I am having some trouble trying to upload photos... it seems that every photo I upload on the site over the past couple of days is upside down so apologies for that.
I've tried to flip it upside down on my computer so that when its loaded it will turn it right side up but that doesn't work either...
Anyone know what this is all about???
Anywayssss if anyone wants to see photo updates theyre all own our instagram page here:

Interesting ! I've not ever had that problem with the photos. I guess first I'm working on a windows based desk top. I upload the jpeg photos directly from my hard drive. And I edit those photos as soon as they are in the file on the hard drive. My Galaxy phone is my camera, and photos are transferred via the cloud. OR it's the browser you are using ? I feel bad for you that you are working outside in an Alberta winter..

Redoing the trailer with a New Axel with Brakes.
So we are going to redo the trailer because its in pretty rough shape and we want to have it lifted. (Like when people "flip the axel")
Since having a better look at ours it seems like were going to have to buy a completely new axel and mount it differently than what it on there.
I have added some photos from princess auto of ones we are thinking about. (We'd like one with internal electric brakes because I think you need those if you're going to be travelling in BC.)
I have never done this before but I feel like it shouldn't be that hard... just gotta make sure everything is REAL SQUARE. As I am currently looking to get into welding and this would be a great side project to work on.
Don't really know the difference yet of what to look for but I'll be watching a but of youtube videos to hopefully figure it out.
Here's my CV Website if anyone is curious and might know of someone that would take on an apprentice welder in Calgary.

I'm not sure if the Beachcomer is heavier than the Surfside ? I decided that the proper replacement axle would be a better deal. The axle currently on your frame looks identical to mine.
It bolted on ...no welding needed. The price with brakes and adjustable arm was $1025. taxes in. FOB Edmonton. Adjustable arm !!! you can change the angle to raise the trailer. Mine was 22 degrees up and trailing. I had them set the new axle at 10 degrees up. I will try that and see.. Should lift my trailer by 2 - 3 inches.

What I do is open my pictures in Ifranview, (free):
https://www.irfanview.com/
Orient them the way that I want, (along with any other required edits) and re-save them. That way they always post correctly.
Below are the pictures that seemed to need rotating. Maybe I should have posted all the pictures together.

Lisa, Your trailer has a torsion axle. The axles that you posted are for a leaf spring suspension. These are totally different beasts.
Not that you can't put a leaf spring suspension on your trailer. You certainly can. But, I would look into the relative advantages of both.

Congatulations on removing the shell fully from the frame, it is pretty flimsy without all the wood but its easy enough to glue new wood back on.
I would recommend building a taller platform for the shell, I used some 6x6 blocks with 2x4s on top of that to support the floor. This allows for a strong base for the shell to sit on, and when it is rebuilt to be jacked back up the frame rolled under. The 6x6 and 2x4 height stacked on top of each other is the minimum height I would want to insert jacks under to then lift back up.
I had also supported the upper shell (I had separated the shells entirely), the weight of the upper shell, connected to the lower shell might cause "bowing" of the sides if the lower shell is not bolted to a flat/solid surface. I can send you some pictures on your IG account if you want?
