1983 13' Scamp Redo
I'm Sandy in central NYS. Hoping this is a good spot to document my progress. So far I've torn out that icky seam tape and used caulk instead. Scrubbed the whole interior down with Kaboom foam with bleach as there was mold on the walls here and there. Painted with a good latex with primer and just finished putting floor tile down. That's where I am at this point. Hubby wants to add a water pump and I'd like to change the faucet for something a little higher. Looking for interesting new knobs. I've already made new curtains....pretty simple. First pic is Scamp leaving NJ, home of prior owner.

Hi Sandy!! I'm looking into having my 82 Burro repainted.. white similar to original & hopefully it will look as nice as yours!! Do you mind me asking how much your paint job was?? It appears to be somewhat limited.. I was quoted $1500.00 but have no idea how much it will run! Is that reasonable or expensive?? Thanks for any help you can give me!! I have a 13 foot 82 Burro!! (His name's Burrito!!)

Karen, I've done nothing to the exterior yet. I'm going to use Barkeepers Helper to clean it then some kind of refinisher/wax. You must be seeing something I'm not. :-)

Thanks, Sandy.. I thought you'd redone the outside, too!! Sorry!! My trailer needs to be repainted due to all the oxidation, etc!! I was given a quote of $1500.00.. Maybe if someone sees this, they maybe able to give me an idea if that's reasonable or not! Sanding, paint, clear coat, gel coat, etc.. (forget the order!!) Thank!

Check through the posts, Karen. I know others have mentioned what they paid for their paint jobs. Quite a range, depending on what you have done. Mine is oxidized, but I'm understanding s rubbing and restorer will take care of that.

Sandy, nice work so far!
It's been discussed on various forums, but the reason your photos appear sideways is that they were taken with an iPhone and you took them in "portrait" mode (with the phone held vertically). The iPhone shows them in the correct orientation because it reads metadata that is part of the picture file, and knows how to orient them. When the photos are uploaded to another platform (like this forum), the metadata is stripped away. The photo appears sideways because there is no instruction included in the file on how it should be oriented.
The answer is simple. Save the photos to a PC. Then, with your PC's photo editor, rotate the photos so they are in the correct orientation, and save them. Upload the photos from the PC and they will appear right side up.
Or, always take your iPhone photos in landscape mode (with the phone held horizontally). They won't be flipped when you upload them.

Hi Wendy, in NY too! It's fun, isn't it? I just discovered "Smart Tiles" and researching different looks. Trying to find some ways to make things a bit different. It's Saturday and I get to go play in Tootzy (her new name!). Your camper looks a bit newer than mine. :-). Love to see interior pics.

Nuttin fancy. All stock stuff except for new faucet with pull out sprayer. Added propane detector, tv, cedar shelves in closet and a few other doo dads.
I'll take pic of faucet later today cuz I know you're looking for one. Added the shademaker awning too. All with some help and great ideas here on forum. I've learned a lot here, enough to make me dangerous ; wink.

Yes, actually. Was gonna start asking if you needed anything special for a faucet. Hubby just bought a water pump. Do you have that and do you hold a button to make it work?

My Scamp used a 4 inch center set faucet. Actually bought one for laundry tubs with sprayer and pull out nozzle. Like the idea for pulling out to was big pots. Nope don't need anything special, just a bit of work getting in there with your arm to tighten the hot side nut. Cold was easier. Scamp sells the shurflo revolution pump but you could get it elsewhere too. Have to get you the model number. They do use a little flip on/off switch that controls the pump, mounted to the galley fiberglass near driver side bench seat. 12volt wired to your 12 volt panel at your distribution box. You should be able to feed wires behind the bench seats without removing; my bench seat has a little area behind where pex tubing and wires are. Conversely you may wish to remove bench seats if you wanted to anchor wires to trailer floor with wire clips.
Anywho I'll get faucet pic up for you shortly. Got at homey d. Around $65 bucks and change I think. But you may wish other as this might not be high enough arc for you.
Cheers.
