1986 Love Bug owner!

Hello all! I just realized I never introduced myself. My name is Dan from Rochester, NY. After more than 2 years of searching, we finally found this 1986 Love Bug 13’. Completely refurbished inside and out. Repainted in its original color scheme, new frame, axle, wheels, tires, hubcaps, upholstery, floors, fridge, and gas stove. One reason it took us so long, is that we didn’t want a sink or toilet to save weight since we tow it with a 2017 Toyota RAV4. We ended up finding it in Chicago from an owner that also had 3 Scamps. On a whim, we drove all the way there with $8,600 in cash; HOPING this wasn’t a scam (we’ve heard horror stories from other forums). It absolutely was not a scam. He’s a handsome little fella that gets more attention and questions from every campground we roll into. There’s something especially awesome when there are multiple house-sized RV’s next to us, and here we are in this retro trailer that isn’t even as long as my kayak, but everyone is asking if they can see inside, and take pictures of it.

Very nice. That’s a late one I’m pretty sure that it was built after the factory burned.
The molds were outside somehow and later bought and moved to a new manufacturing site which had an amazing resemblance to two chicken brooder houses.. It was about 5 or 6 miles south of Tripoli
(pronounced trip o la).
