1997 scamp advice

Hi all. I joined this forum abt 2 months ago in search of a fg unit. Well we finally bought one. We were fortunate enough to stumble upon a 16' 1997 deluxe scamp. Has restroom and side dinette. My first chore is going to be replacing the tires and possibly replacing the bearings. Secondly I'll be custom building a small bunk over the dinette for our 9 year old son. Aside from that just some cleaning and maintenance. Everything else seems to be working just fine. I'm look forward to any and all advice fr you scamp owners for a newbie. We're excited and are looking forward to lots of memories as a family. Thank you. Adam.

Ok. Here she is. 1997 scamp 16'.

Needs new tires. Any recommendations? Greenballs don't seem the best nor do good years.

Congrats Adam. She looks good.
Let the fun trips and good memories begin!

Re tires. If you use the search function found at the top of this forum on the drop down list, use the bottom Google option for the best results. You will find lots of interesting discussions and opinions on the topic of what your best tire options are. ;-)

Hi Adam! We too are in Florida! Just curios why you need to build a bunk over the side dinette when it converts to a bunk? We have a 13' with front bunks and my girls 10 and 17 fit perfect in them. I believe the side bunk is a little larger even than front bunks. Enjoy and make lots of memories, Florida weather is finally starting to cooperate and we hope to get out soon ourselves!

This unit has the side dinette with restroom in the front. The side dinette converts to a single bed only. No bunks above.
