A Hound Dog Howdy

Karen and I have traveled mostly by motorcycle and sleeping bag.....
Just recently bought a 1974 Hunter-1
I'm redoing the cabinets and plumbing and......well,........I've done enough projects to know that it's going to be a 90% interior redo.......................
Our rules for traveling have always been:
1. 2-lane roads whenever possible
2. no chain restaurants
3. avoid motels whenever possible
and.......it's all about the people you meet...
Looking forward to meeting Y'all and already have lurked to learn what we can...........
See Ya' out there

Hi Allan and Karen, welcome to FiberglassRV. You'll find lots of friendly, helpful people here. As Karen mentioned, we love to look at pictures

yup, like your rules.

heres one of mine you might want to add , do at least one trip per year to give something back.
volunteer for a park cleanup weekend, or work with the department of natural resources, or fishery dept.
this year i will guard the sturgeon as they swim upstream to spawn. to protect them from poachers.
every state has something like this to do. you meet great, caring people, and get to repay some of the enjoyment you have had in the outdoors.

plus,,,its just a bunch of fun.

Cool John

Whenever Karen and I camp by a river we offer to take garbage bags in our kayaks and clean up in exchange for a ferry upriver. (recently Karen received a check for "the most unusual litter" from Friends of the Park .......included a trolling motor and a size 42 bra. They put her photo in the paper with the bra but I insisted they put a black strip over her eyes....LOL)

Welcome to the both of you!
I like your rules of travel. As one who drives old cars, they go right along with my travel plans also.
BTW- we live in Sheveport and make it that way a couple of times a year. Mostly we camp about 60 miles south and west of you in the Ouachita National Forest.
We are recent fiberglassers (just this year) so our stopping places are bound to change. If you need any info about this part of the country, just PM me!

Welcome! I have relatives who live in Hot Springs, and I've been to Hot Springs Village... in July... It's a nice area, but I expect it's been an adjustment for you moving from Eugene? I had my Compact Jr. when I was there (without Air Conditioning).
