Any Escape 21's coming down I-80 in Nebraska?
Hello, I am in the process of transferring from a backpack to a camper trailer...with much excitement and much relief for my wife.
I would like to view a 21' Escape if you happen to be coming down I-80 in Nebraska or I-70 in Kansas...or if you are headed south on Hiway 81.
I am looking for a camper to go on the ferry to SE Alaska this next summer. Any and all tips will be appreciated. Thanks, Keith.

Hi Keith. Have you asked at the EscapeForum? Lots of the members also post here on FiberglassRV. But, your best bet is to check on the forum dedicated to Escapes: Escape Trailer Owners Community

Welcome to FGRV Keith,
In addition to Donna's advice, check into ferry restrictions on length, this includes both your tow and trailer. You may need an alternate route to take.

You could also call Escape directly - they will set you up to take a look at a trailer owned by someone near you - if there is one.

According to the owner's map https://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msid...bed&dg=feature
there is an Escape 19 in Omaha, Ne. It should be noted that not all owners are on this map.

Alaskan Ferry
Keith you may want to take another look at taking your trailer and truck on the Ferry. I spent 4 weeks going port to port in a 21' Chinook motorhome in 2012. It was a great trip and I loved ever minute of it But you will find the camp sites are very limited in size at most of the ports.
The towns are trapped between the sea and the mountain with not much usable land. Some of the places I had a hard time crowding in my 21' motorhome. If I was doing it again I think I rethink my rig. You will for sure have to unhook your tow rig and part it away from your trailer at 90% of the places you stop.
Be sure and plan a really long stop in Skagway.
Have a great trip.

In June I will be passing through Nebraska after picking up our new Escape 21. You may not want to wait that long. If you are in a hurry I still have an Escape 19 for sale. See the ad under trailers for sale.

HI Paul: Thanks for your reply. I hope to be outfitted and headed north by June...but I may be interested in your 19. I won't need an AC for Alaska but will for some of my other destinations so I will look into that process and expense. Thanks again, Keith

Keith, at this point in time, if you want an Escape 19 for use in June 2014... your only choice is to hope someone cancels on the production schedule (if you want new) or find one that suits your needs that's for sale used. The next slot for a new 19' build is:
19' Escape - September 5 & 8, 2014
And, it's just a bit longer for a 21'
21' Escape - September 17 & 18, 2014

I remember being on a "Wait list" for my new Harley 20 years ago, some people even sold their "position" on the list to those who did not want to wait any more time. These waits were, similar to Escape's, 6-12 months.

Have you considered a truck camper? Shorter length, all necessities, easier to drive/park, better on bad roads, etc. if/when I head to Alaska, I'll be looking at truck campers.
