Boler hand-me-down

Hi, my name's Mike. I'm from Northwestern Ontario, Canada and I am the lucky recipient of a 13' 73 Boler (at least I think it is Serial No. 34 02XX).

My dad purchased the boler about 17 years ago. We used it as is and didn't do any work on it. Now that my dad's getting on in years he passed it on to me... and I'd like to get my hands dirty.

I'll admit, I'm a little scared to start dismantling the boler. I would love to do the following. Replace all the windows, paint the exterior, redo the upholstery, redo the electrical and add battery power and eventually solar.

Those mods are my wish list at the moment. My wife and I are planning to take the boler our on it's first adventure in about 12 years... We're headed for Texas next month. Things I want to do before then. Replace a window pane (apparently someone "accidentally" threw a rock through it), and replace the exterior door handle... then take off the ugly padlock and fill in the holes.... this was something the previous... previous owner did.

I'll post pictures along the way... I think I'll be depending a lot on everyone here in the forum to make sure I don't ruin my new toy.

Oh MY! The only hand-me-downs I ever got were socks! If you have the jalousie windows, all the parts are replaceable and fixable.

Pictures?

Welcome Mikedup. Atlantic Canada welcoming you to the fold of mini eggers. What a great thing you have received. Treasure every day in it. I purchased mine last year and it was the best thing to ever happen. Ever in the east coast of Cape Breton give a shout.

Hello Mike and welcome. What part of Northwest Ontario are you from? This is a great forum to help you with all the repairs you plan to do. And if you are not to far from Winnipeg don't forget about our Rally on the 19-21 August...as of now we have 18 fiberglass campers registered so it should be a good event to pick up some more trailer remodeling ideas.
Enjoy and take care.
