Do I need new foam cushions?

They're still full and firm even though they're 30 years old. Wash covers and freshen up with some vinegar and sunlight?

I they feel good on your tush, don't smell like a landfill, and aren't sprouting mould like a batch of penicillin, I'd say you're (harumph) sitting fine.

I'm cheap, I'd try them... THEN decide. If the foam is funky, you can do the "grape stomp" in a kids small plastic pool. Lots of fresh water to rinse, squeeze as much water out as possible. Set them on a side and rotate with the sun. May take a couple of days to dry thoroughly.... and they must be dry or they will mold!

Hi: courtney... I used dishwasher detergent, either powdered or liquid, in the bath tub. It has a little bleach in it and is low sudsing. Do the foams one at a time and rinse, rinse, rinse. I then rolled them in old pool towels and dried them on a wire sweater rack under the furnace vent for a few days each. The old foams have more petroleum content than the new stuff and are much heavier/better.
