FGRV on order

Hello. New here. Have camped in the past in tents, pop-ups, and small stickies.

Retiring in just over a year and just ordered a 17' Casita SD. It will be ready in July and I will be driving to Rice with my teen son to pick it up and slowly winding our way back to South Florida.

If anyone has suggestions for great stops and campsites between Rice Texas and South Florida I am all ears!

POI Pennsacola

Don't miss the Navy museum in Pensacola and it's FREE . Also go to Apalachicola for the Oysters . Then in Homosassa Springs to see the Manatees.
Maybe Bourbon St. in New Orleans ? I guess it depends where in Fl. you live we are in SW Fl. There are a bunch of Great State parks . Look them up and you can make reservations also if your over 62 get the old farts card from the Feds it lets you get into National parks and forest for 1/2 price Good Luck and Safe trip Jim

Pensacola: Naval Aviation Museum and Blue Angels flight practice, all very impressive, camping at Fort Pickens Campground (definitely Loop A - much nicer than the other loops, and they are building new showers/restrooms). We were there a few weeks ago and both my wife and I had a great time.

Thanx for the replies so far. I am thinking of hugging the coastline on the way back and coming down the west coast of Florida.

Keep the great ideas/campgrounds coming. I especially like the suggestion of the best loop to get!
