Finally posting photo's of our Carefree 5th wheel

Been members for awhile, but finally getting to posting some photo's of our 5th wheel

Very, very rare. I haven't seen another Carefree RV on the road for probably 10 years. Never have seen another Carefree 5th wheel on the road, just a few photos on this forum

We love it. perfect size for the 2 of us plus dog.

Welcome, and thanks for sharing the photos. Very rare indeed! Sometime when you have a chance we’d love to see inside.

Enjoy your very own slice of molded fiberglass history!

Very cool! Tell us about it a little. What's it weigh, how long it is, size wheels, how does it pull?

Who made it? When I google "Carefree 5th wheel travel trailer" I only get Carefree awnings.

The Carefree bumper pulls are unicorns. But a 5th wheel! WOW. This is the only one I've ever seen. Thanks so much for sharing the pictures

Thanks everyone, yes, we're quite proud of it. It is a Carefree Trailer. Made in Trail BC from about 1973 to 1977.

Owned by my parents since new in 1976. They lived in it while their retirement house was being built, then Mom swore she would never spend another night in it Trailer then sat for about 20 years in a heated garage. We got it a few years ago. New brakes, new fridge, new water tank, new black tank, new converter. Original axles, original stove, water heater, furnace and windows. Just had to pull them for new butyl tape.

Still has the original interior, curtains get changed later this summer, new ones are being sewn right now. Original cushions, might last another 2 years before we change them out.

I'll get photos of an original interior before we change the curtains.

Weight: 3600 lbs. 3000 on the axles, 600 on the pin
Length from pin to bumper is 24 feet
Twin beds in the nose, bathroom with separate shower (kind of tight, might be more suitable for a circus contortionist), kitchen area, side couch and the a dinette at the back

Tow vehicle 2019 Nissan Frontier with a Demco autoslide
Easily pulls the trailer, nicely sits behind the truck at 120 kph. Never had a wind gust where the trailer starts pushing the truck around. Can feel them, but that's about it.

Truck has enough engine holding available to easily hold the trailer at about 90 kph on a 5% downhill grade

Here is a photo that illustrates the size compared to one of the mobile condo 5th wheels

Some photo's of the interior.

Curtains, upholstery and woodwork is all original from 1976. Changing the curtains later this summer. Upholstery fabric is in excellent condition, but foam is getting a little soft, will probably change in 2 or 3 seasons.
