First time camper

Hi,

My wife and I are looking for buy a smaller camper: preferably Scamp but also thinking Casita. We’d love to see one in person before we get too excited. Anyone living in or near the Bay Area willing to show us around your RV?

Thank you, Nicholas

Call the manufacturers for referrals to owners willing to show you their rigs. Usually there's a referral bonus for them if you buy a new rig and mention their name. Casita used to be $200.

You could also attend one of the upcoming fiberglass camper events. That would give you tons of options to look at.

Or this one up by Newport Oregon. They have Yurts for rent and you can enjoy the event.

This is being held at a hugely bike friendly park. Of course, being held in Oregon in October, you should bring an umbrella...........

I've stayed there several times. In recent years we've preferred to stay at the marina. Lots to do on the touristy "bay" side and I love the old "Ocean" side of Newport.

16 foot Casita SD

You're welcome to look at my Casita if you're in Santa Rosa. It's a 2005 model with few modifications. Send me a pm if you're interested.

Attending one of the rallies even a day trip is an excellent idea. You would be able to look at many different kinds of small campers and get a good feel for what might fit you best. And all in one place! I will be at both the ones mentioned and you are welcome to look at my 2018 21 ft Escape.

I'm in Santa Rosa with a 2005 16' Casita SD. You're welcome to check it out. Send me a pm if interested. Am I responding to the correct post?

An important consideration is the 13' SCAMP has more headroom than the 13' CASITA and what I hear a more attractive interior. However, to each his own!
