Good day ppls! 74 boler owner here in edmonton

Hey Everyone, obvious I'm new here but I've had my boler for about a year, plan was to start redoing it, but we decided to use it for the summer, so it's been a slow start on gutting it this winter been busy (hvac work) today I hope to have it in the garage to start on the frame off restro. But again I been trying to do this for 3 weeks haha

Anyways my names joey, I'm up on the north side Edmonton, Any help advice or even wanted to stop by. I'll be taking pics and make a new progress thread,

Welcome Joey

Great to have another Albertian join the group.
Hope you have your Boler in usable condition for the Prairie Egg Gathering in July

Is that the meeting in Miquelon lake? I was going to go to that one last July. But other plans were made, yeah I hopeto least have it back and operational in a few months if time permits it. As of since my first post I've managed to park it in front of my garage and cleaned it out! Frame off just might still start today

Frame off and floor are my first things to tackle, then after that the plan is getting this sag out of the body. It droops and sags on the drivers side pretty bad

Check the frame carefully, with the body off this will be easy. Look for cracks and bends at the front of both frame rails where the tongue attaches, also check the left (drivers side) frame rail from the axle to the back bumper, it is common for this to be bent down which will twist the body causing all sorts of problems. Finally make sure both frame rails are level and parallel, there is no twist in the frame,

Are there many people around the Edmonton area? It be great to get some help/ideas ect, even just to start meeting some of you, but yes I'll be needing to do a in depth search on the frame, I came across wood in the back bumper?? So of course after so long it's wet and was causing my bumper to rust/rot out

I also have a boler that I owned for about 2 years now. Did the updating while tried to use it. Ended up getting frustrated because I wanted things to be working etc. I gutted mine and am in the midst of rebuilding. Good luck on your build and Look forward to seeing your photos.

Welcome to the forum Joey. The unseasonably good weather in Edmonton these past couple of weeks should help you out with your repairs.
regards

The weather has been amazing, just to bad now I got stuck working hard and long hours again but I was quickly looking on what would we use to replace our liner in our bolers and where would we get it, I found a place in Winnipeg emailed them but they need more info that I can not provide. Any help would be amazing, it don't have to be exact what it is original, but something close would be helpful. That is my next step after floor

Headliner

I found a place in midland Ontario called jt's outdoor fabrics. They have all the headliner and hull liners for boats and the like.
Georgian Bay Ontario Canada - Sunbrella Boat Tops, Canvas Covers, Custom Biminis, Marine Upholstery, Boat Fabrics & Carpeting - JT's Top Shop

It is similar to ensolite and comes in many many colours . this is what I will be using on mine. .

First let me say welcome to the group;
Have started making changes to ours, but it can be slow, want to keep our elephant skin lining only doing, functional and/or upgrades that will lesson the weight.
Yours sound like a full rebuild; ours is in good shape and will not need that. Should be fun project.
We did not paint ours working on gelcoat repairs as possible; will you paint it or stick to gelcoat, they make colour kits.
Was looking at the roof and will have some work to do this summer on it. Is your shell in good shape?
The boat places are a great resource as they are used to fiberglass construction slimmit is on the mark.
