Greetings All,
My wife and I just bought our very first travel trailer, a 78'
boler 1700. The price was right! Now all I need to do is restore it! As you can see by the pic, it has a bad case of "saggy bum" I couldn't even back it up our driveway. New leaf springs are the first order of business, then I can back it into my carport. The interior needed a gallon of bleach to cleanup. It had been sitting for several years without any ventilation. The perfect conditions for all sorts of growth here on the wet coast. The
propane tanks were dated 1989, and I found some old
license plates from 1993 under the sink. The cushions are all there, but need cleaning and recovering. Water heater is shot, as is the fresh water tank.
Fridge, stove, convertor, and heater work. Wiring is a bit of a mess. All that being said, we are still excited to have something that we can tow with our mini van and take our boys camping. Yeah fiberglass!
I've been all over the forums already, and I can't believe the knowledge base that exists here. Simply fabulous! We hope to add to it for others as we go on our restoration journey.
Cheers!
Rudi and Sherri
