Happy to Be Here & LOOKING!

As a "newbie", and having recently discovered "The Scamp", we are excited and thinking that maybe what we have been looking for has ARRIVED! We are hoping to rent a 13' to experience the concept beginning on 12-27-31 and camping in a few of the National Parks (our favorite places!). Hopefully, and shortly thereafter, we will purchase our own and will have concluded what we want to believe about The Scamp. Having rented ourselves before, and having always treated our rentals with baby gloves, we are mature and responsible individuals. So- IF you have a 13' that will assist us in our "Scamp Orientation", (with possibly an option to own) we would very much like to hear from you!

Is this "quick reply" box available for me to respond to my OWN thread?

Great! Thanks!

David,

So where are you located, and how much would you charge for December 27-31st? We're in Harrisonburg, Virginia - James Madison University?

Sorry, I was being "funny" I was replying to your reply to yourself. I am in Calgary Canada. While I do have a trailer that could be rented, we are kinda far away.

If you are wanting to rent someone's trailer, some of the questions they will ask first:

1. What will you be towing with and what does it have for a hitch
2. Does it have a 7 pin connector with a battery charging feed
3. Do you have a brake controller installed.
4. What coverage for liability and comprehensive insurance do you have and what is the payout for a total loss?

You might want to post those answers here first for vetting by our friendly vetting staff.....

Being in VA, you are in an area where most FGRV's are winterized and many won't be available for any use until spring.

Good Luck

I know happier camper in Ontario Canada will drop off camper at site and pick up. But again sort of far away and getting pretty cool at night for camping up here to most folks taste.

You might be able to reach out to someone south of you that would be willing to take camper to campground in their area for you to use. Good bet they know a nice campground local to them, avoid the whole hassle around towing and insurance.

Think it would be a lot easier to find a private owner willing to let you spend a few nights in it camping than it would be to find one willing to let a stranger drive off with it on the back of their vehicle. I mean who knows how experienced you are at towing? Lot less major to go wrong if you are just camping in it.

eyes: My apologies Mike for incorrectly stating your sons companies name as Happy Campers while promoting his biz - at least I got the location and website link correct!
