Hello all

Lets see where do i start. Well my wife(Pat) and I started out tent camping in the 70s with the kids. We now belong to the Tearjerkers and are co directors of the Pennsylvania chapter. I have built two teardrops over the years but currently only have one which we love. I bought a 1976 15' Scotty about 3 years ago and rebuilt from ground up. If you buy an old Scotty you have rot. We like the Scotty but no bathroom so here we are. Pat and I just ordered a new Scamp 16' side dinette front bath w/ deluxe oak. Pick up is early July. We will be pulling it with a FJ Cruiser which will do fine the Scotty goes about 2500 lb. Looking forward to doing some mods to it. I am hoping this is our last trailer we buy and takes us into retirment in 5 years or less.

Prepare to make some happy memories. Your FJ will do fine, I'm sure. I think you are wise to get a new one, because it will hold its value so well and you get to enjoy the low-maintenance newness.

Hi Ken,
We're Tearjerkers from the next state north. While we love our Little Guy, the lack of bathroom facilities and all weather outdoor cooking was a little too much for us. Especially if we couldn't find a site near the restrooms. Not always the prime spots, either. So we're picking up our new Parkliner in a little less than a month. If you see a black Tacoma with GOLTLGUY plates headed north through PA, with a new ParkLiner in tow, give a wave, it's us!

Hi Brian,
We sure do love the Tearjerkers group and will continue camping with them. We now camp in our Scotty when we need more room. The Scotty has no bathroom and is a 1976 sooooo. I am so ready for the Scamp and maybe going to some of these egg gatherings.

I understand being torn in two directions, Ken. We are looking forward to egg gatherings as well. There don't seem to be any scheduled nearby at this time. We're booked for the "Tear Up the Adirondacks" rally at Fish Creek Pond State Park in the Northern Adirondacks in June which is not, officially, a Tearjerkers functions. It draws a lot of teardrops but any campers are welcome. We will probably show up with the ParkLiner as it is "dry camping". Showers are about a mile away from our loop and water faucets are located about every 10 sites. No onsite electricity available and generator usage is limited to two hours in the morning and two in the afternoon. We're looking forward to living the fiberglass high life!
