Hello From Alabama

Hello
My name is John and I am renovating a 1988 Casita 16' Freedom Deluxe.
I have it down to bare shell now
see progress at
www.casitarestoration.com

Debating:
What to put on the walls? Kanga Carpet, Headliner?
To Paint or not to Paint?
How to lay out the new design (nothing like a clean slate)

See you around
John

Welcome!

Quite a project you have tackled there! I vote for something on the walls that has the most insulation you can get and for a bed big enough to be comfortable!

Looking forward to seeing your progress.

Welcome, keep the picture of your project coming........... We like pic's!

My Dh and I purchased a 85 Casita and were going to rebuild. But finally found what we wanted with a newer model year. But I had spent some time searching for options/ideas for the walls.

one option I really like was a Airstream rehab-er suggested tuck and roll! I really like that idea. Thought it would be fun. He said they would do it just like a 54 chevy...... For me the "insulation" factor isn't that big. Mostly cause I haven't had to spend months camping in the winter months in it. I can hang with anything for a weekend or two..... You certainly want something on the walls and ceiling but you might think outta the carpet box..........

As far as changing the configuration I was told to be careful as the interior walls are there for structure sake so can't remove them. Have to replace.

Good luck with your project!

Thanks for the welcome and the tips. I will keep the pictures coming. Right now, there is not much progress to highlight as I am trying to get the nasty glue off the interior walls. I found a good pressure washer is working the best. Still takes time though.
See you later.
John

John, from experience you will never get it all off (well maybe if you spend large amounts of time) Just get the worse off. Your gonna cover it up anyway!
