Hello from beautiful British Columbia!
My wife and I discovered this 71
Boler 1300 in rural Cawston, BC. The previous owner had purchased it with the intention of a full restoration. Unfortunately he was diagnosed with terminal cancer shortly thereafter and was never able to complete the project
It has been sitting for about 2 years, in fairly decent condition.
Some of my main concerns:
- lots of "spiderweb" cracks
- the door won't sit straight and is held in place with 1/4" bolts in the hinges
- leaky front window
- sun bleached roof
- the heater was removed...we have all the parts but re-assembly might be a challenge
- water tank is cracked/repaired
- lots of loose rivets
- the
axle is sitting low (I'm not really sure)
Cushions are great condition, except for one that is sun bleached/burnt.
Immediate goals are to change all the window seals, repair the door, prep and
paint the exterior, and redo the electric system. I'd also like to lift the
axle with 2" steel square tubing. I'm hoping to have all this done by early July
This site is great! The info is tremendous and my bookmarks list is quickly exploding with posts, threads, conversations, and useful links.
I have attached some pictures of the
Boler, she is currently sitting in my carport sheltered from the elements. This is our second TT, the other being a 1972 16' Travelaire that I will be selling in a few weeks
