Hello from Ohio + Question

First post here. Looking for a used egg. Have owned a few older trailers (75 Scotty, 75 Avion).

I am thinking about going to look at a 1987 16’ scamp that’s about 5 hours away. My main concern at this point is how wavy the sides of the camper look. It may be perfectly normal...I don’t know. Here is a link to the craigslist add:

Welcome to FGRV Matthew. I can't give any info on the waves but the door shape and seal look to be great. The curved doors often seem to loose their shape at the bottom and leave a gap for water, bugs and such to enter. There's a "buyers check list" you can pull up and use to help you know what to look for with these eggs. Good luck on your search.

Slight waviness is normal. The fiberglass is pretty thin. Normally it is not too noticeable, but if the light comes from an oblique angle it can be accentuated. If all the interior cabinets and supports are in place, and if all the rivets are tight (give the acorn nuts on the inside a twist with your fingers), then I wouldn’t worry.

Do check the frame underneath carefully, especially under the front of the cabin where the A-frame bends. Scamp used a lighter frame on these older units and occasional failures do occur, most commonly on the street side bend.

That looks like a well optioned trailer. Fridge, hot & cold water, full bath, furnace, AC, microwave...

Needs cleaned, new tires, service brakes & bearings... And then hit the road!
