Hello from Scotland
Hi Guys, just popping in to say a quick hello to all
I've found myself on your forum due to recently purchasing a 1974 MKP Grandesse which I'll be stripping out soon to convert into a modern style home office with a twist
Main jobs being required are replacing the perished external roof to body sealing strip and once water tight fitting a full new floor. Here goes nothing...

Welcome Neil! I'll bet I'm not the only one on this side of the pond to wonder what a MKP Grandesse looks like. I hope you can crack the code and send some pictures. Good luck to you and your restoration.

Thanks Tom, here's the only photo I have of it at the moment which the previous owner took. I have also just checked the paperwork and it's actually the smaller MKP Grand 5T & not the Grandesse.
What I am struggling with is finding any info on these caravans because most of what's online is in Dutch
Previous to this fiberglass MKP I've always had Eriba caravans which I love and would prefer to use but to be honest they are now just to expensive here in the UK especially to use as a project and rip apart

Thank you Neil. Nice looking trailer. It definitely looks like it fits right in at this site. I'll be curious to see if anyone here knows anything about them. Even if they don't, the principles are the same for repairing fiberglass. You should get some help here.

Hardly
Hey Neil, we've had/have several member owners of the MKP Grandesse. Unfortunately they haven't been around for a while. You might want to check out items posted by Denise.
I also found a couple of threads for you: Fiberglass RV - MKP Grandesse Trailers
we're glad you're here
And thanks for posting a pic!

Welcome to the forum. Your trailer is lovely.
You can use google translate to get a rough translation of your manual. If you found the manual online, cut and paste into the box.

It's not perfect, but not bad, either.

Welcome, Neil! It's a great-looking trailer. As soon as you are able, we'd love to see more photos, especially of the interior.

Very nice looking trailer - not our usual type over here.
I own a 1988 Eriba Triton 16' trailer which is very rare here in the US.
I like how the European trailers tend to use mor wood trim than the American ones - gives them a warmer feel.

Sweet looking caravan Neily. Is that a Honda Civic you are using as a TV?

It fits nicely behind the Range Rover. Do it is a pop up roof?

Yes the Eriba trailers have a pop-up roof section so you can stand up in them when parked but they collapse for lower wind resistance. The roof panel is fiberglass but the rest of the trailer is aluminum over a steel tube frame. They are very light for their size - my 16' Eriba trailer weighs less than my previously owned 13' U-Haul.
