Hello from the UK!

Hi, all. I'm Phil (with DW Sheila), presently living the UK. After many years of living and working overseas, we will be retiring to the US in January, initially in the Birmingham, Ala. area. I've been lurking here for several months reading and absorbing all I can about Fiberglass RVs and hope to be in one next year. This forum is a wealth of information and help!

I think I'd be happy in a 16 or 17 foot egg, but the DW insists that we must have room for at least two of the grandchildren at a time. So, maybe a 19' Escape or a fifth wheel Scamp or Escape may be in our future. We'll want to visit a rally or find FB RV owners nearby so we can get a feel of size and space. We will be buying both a tow vehicle and a trailer.

Welcome to the forum, Phil!

You seem to know what you want, and you've latched onto some excellent choices. Getting your hands on an Escape is the trick these days, as you've probably gleaned from your reading.

Best wishes in your retirement and travels!

Your timing will be just right to attend the Green Eggs and Ham annual March rally in Montgomery, AL. There will be eggs of all shapes and sizes there, from Scamps and Casitas, to Escapes, Burros, U-Hauls, and Eggcampers. Usually a couple "Little Snoozy's" and a parkliner or two. They usually show them off on Saturday, but most fiberglass owners are proud to show theirs off anytime.
Welcome back to the other side of the pond!

Thanks for the information, John and Marilyn! That sounds like perfect timing to check out lots of trailers. I'll see if I can't arrange to be there for the Saturday show-off day. It's an easy drive from the south side of Birmingham where we'll be staying.

We're excited to be back in the USA! After seeing a lot of places around the world, we're looking forward to seeing more of the US at a leisurely pace and spending time with family that we've missed.
