Hello, I am Angel, a new kid on the block

Firstly, I would like to say that I am happy to have found this forum. It is a little difficult for a new non-computer person to navigate this site. I just keep pushing and clicking until something pops up. I am retired military and am looking for a Casita, Patriot, on or about a 2010 model with shower. I reside in Florida, but will travel to pick up a deal. 352-476-7130.

Welcome to FGRV Angel. What are you planning to use for a tow vehicle?

Casita Patriot

Hello Dave,
I presently own a 2014 KIA Soul. It tows about 1400 lbs., but I would need a vehicle with a tow capacity of 3,500 Lbs. I am mainly interested in the RV first, and worry about the vehicle at a later time. If someone is willing to take a trade, that would be even better.

Not bad idea at all because you may find a great deal on something larger than you were looking for. Tugs are easy to get, TTs not so much. FG TTs tend to sell pretty fast when in good shape, sometimes in hours. Most folks will say to have a handful of $$$ and be ready to do a road trip right away. There have been a number of members that traveled many states away . I got lucky, mine was only 80 miles away .
I did USAF, which branch did you serve?

Welcome, Angel!

Casita Patriots are pretty rare, and apparently Casita stopped making them last year, though they still appear on their website. Scamp also makes a 13' model with a similar front bath set-up, still in production and easier to find. There are number of differences, though, so if you have a strong preference for the Casita you may have to be patient. You just missed a really nice one in Santa Monica.

I agree about upgrading your tug- front bath 13'ers typically tip the scales around 1800-2000# loaded for travel.

Best wishes!

We have an egg rally June 2-4 in Live Oak, Fl. Great opportunity to network, and a lot of fun.
