Welcome, Rachel!
Keep your eyes open on the classifieds here, at
www.fiberglass-rv-4sale.com, and nearby Craigslist. The Hunters come up from time to time. And yes, there is a project Compact Jr. listed here, no pictures. At $900 it probably needs a lot of work.
Hunter made two models. The Compact Jr. is the smaller and lighter of the two. Expect 1300-1500# loaded for camping. The larger comes in two variations, Compact I and Compact II. They’re wider with a sculpted clamshell-style shell. Expect 1600-1800#.
You can also look for a Trailswest
Campster, different company but very similar to the Hunter Compact Jr. All share the same basic rear entry layout and garageable height with pop-top roof.
There’s a nicely renovated Compact II
for sale in Phoenix right now. It appears ready to camp today. Jump right ahead of your sister!

(I have no personal knowledge of the trailer or seller- just happened to see the ad. Note that the original
fridge or icebox has been removed, the only significant drawback I can see.)
