Hello. I'm a New Member

Hello

My name is Christopher S. Nice to meet everyone. My wife and I are in the market for a fiberglass travel trailer with a full bath. We're retired and have friends we'd like to camp with. These friends also have fiberglass travel trailers (1 has a Scamp 16' Deluxe and the other has a BIgfoot).

Christopher, since you live in Minnesota, you might go to the Scamp factory in Backus, if you haven't already done so, and at least look at the various models that are available. If you call the other fiberglass trailer makers they may be able to put you in contact with owners that are willing to show you their trailer. Good luck in your search. Welcome to the group! Only advice I have is to start with the bed(s). A good night’s sleep is arguably the most important function of a travel trailer. Beds in some models are quite small. Second is the bathroom for maximum camping flexibility. Of course, with limited space, it’s all about the trade-offs.

Wiith your friend group, you should have a Casita or an Escape. Together you’d make a mini-rally!

Best wishes in your search for your molded fiberglass home-on-wheels.

Thank you

Appreciate the great advice and suggestions.

Thanks for the Backus suggestion. We'll definitely make the trip. We had no idea the scamp factory was in our backyard.

We really like the Casitas, too. They're on our short list.

We thought the bed comfort was important but never thought about just how important the bed is.

This promises to be a fun search. Thanks again.

The Scamp rally is in June this year. If you do not have one yet a day trip to the event will let you see lots of brands and models, not just Scamps.I know a 16' Scamp in Eau Claire that the owner is thinking of selling. It is like new and I hold him to ask what he paid new. I'll send him this link. Minnesota is the home of Scamp and may be the best state to find one, Good luck!

We bought a Casita Freedom Deluxe in March just finished a 2 week Georgia State Park extravaganza. The bathroom is nice to have in the middle of the night. The best thing for us though is a bed that stays a bed, no more assembling /disassembling. The 6" tri-fold full size mattress we used in our old camper fit perfectly in the new Bonita Casita. The bathroom will become more essential when we start doing more dry camping.
