Hello I'm Jessica, a new Boler owner!

Hi everyone!

My husband Albert and I recently picked up Patti's dear Husdon from Toronto, ON. I've been a lover of Bolers from afar and am really excited to go on adventures with ours and be a part of the community.

Our first adventure was getting him home to Waterloo, ON via the busy streets of Toronto. Towing a trailer for the first time using a truck from a car share through Toronto was...interesting But we made it home and Hudson is in his new home hanging out in our backyard. We have a lane in the back of our house which makes storing him a breeze.

Our next adventure is figuring out how to store him for the winter. Thinking a tarp with the vent open a bit and some silica inside to prevent moisture build up. Then we'll make sure to keep snow from building up on top.

We can't wait to make some changes to make Hudson our own and are looking forward to our first camping adventure next year.

We're also thinking about renting him out as well - trying to figure out how that could work.

Cheers!
Jessica

Welcome Jessica and Albert!

Winter storage is not that big of a deal. Just keep the snow from piling up too high. A cover may be more problem then solution. Some have reported that the constant rubbing of the cover has rubbed through the gel coat.

I really like the Hudson Bay blanket paint job!

Another Ontarioan Boler !

Welcome to Jessica, Albert and HUDSON. You have sibling (another Boler!) in the Algonquin Highlands. We too had problems deciding how to winter store our '73 Boler. So we built him his own house, high enough to permit easy separation, so we could clean his 'pampers', and otherwise adjust his underpants. Paul Nieumeister in Sebringville, Ont. is your best source, for 'all things' Boler. We look forward to seeing the HB stripes on the road, or in the annual Bolerama.

I wonder if this boler was ever in Sask.?
A friend had the same paint job on his in about 2004.
I will look to see if I still have a pic of it.

Using a tarp to cover your Boler would be a bad idea. Tarps will rub through the paint or gel coat.

I use a outdoor rated car cover for mine (something sized for a small SUV or minivan). I pull it to the front and tie the excess with a rope. Only down side is the car cover only comes just past the belly band, but it does keep the tree sap and bird droppings off! ($50ish at Walmart or Canadian Tire)

Every Boler should have at least one stripe!
