Hello! new U-haul ct 13 owners and members from Montreal, QC Canada
Hello everyone, Bonjour,
I have been reading the threads for a while now and it has been so helpful (and entertaining). We are very excited to finally have bought our first (I anticipate it will not te our last) fiberglass trailer. Excited and to be honest a little taken by some of the work involved in 'modernizing' the unit. We took a better look under our happy little u-haul camper last night and saw sections where the frame was rotten completely. (I have read the thread from ‘Theman’ Frederic, entitled U-haul ct 13 “the project’ about 15 times already and am so appreciative of all the pictures shared by him and everyone).
Anyway, I am convinced once the initial work is underway, and once we have our first trip under our belt, the excitement will be far outweigh the ‘struggles’. I am so happy that you are all here and are all so interesting and helpful. I guess this is also part of the excitement…knowing that we will encounter people like you while on our ‘field trips’ and that there are still far more amazing peeps than the opposites.
Enchanté de faire votre connaissance,

Welcome. You have purchased a great little camper and I'm sure that once you have it just the way you like it, you will make wonderful memories.

From Google Translate:

Just for the record, Tom, I did not use Google Translate. I used to teach French a LONG time ago.

PS: Did you notice how simple it was? I thought about adding more, but it was a LONG time ago. The gears are a bit rusty.
PPS: I do not understand Canadian French though. I have tried when we camp there, but I can only pick up a word or two.

Oh, I know that you didn't use Google Translate. I thought that it worked surprising well, though. Sometimes the results sound like something from those Chinese owner's manuals.

Can't do without Google Translate though. I have been learning Spanish for 3 years now (I just finished 6 months of a telenovela) and now German. Kevin and I are going to Germany this summer. Not with the VT though, although I did look into how to ship it a year ago.

Hello and thank you!
Hee hee, I am glad to get some words of welcome...For some reason I got a email notification of the first few replies and then nothing... I felt a little sad...and to my surprise when I came to check I saw this lovely conversation going on...at this point mostly about language! I am french (canadian) and my husband english (canadian) with bilingual daughters. If ever anyone needs help translating or is curious about some french canadian word, please ask!
On the uhaul topic, yes I will put pictures...as I love flipping through them as well. As you will notice our 'avatar' is a Boler illustration I made when we were shopping for a trailer and we ended up buying a uhaul so I will have to make a new illustartion. Here is my first picture with our uhaul.
