Hi Francis,
Welcome! Looking forward to reading about your tug decision as well as the egg that you end up with.
Happy Hunting!
Take care,
Dean

Wanted to update and thank everyone for the input. We bought a used 2016 Nissan Frontier SV V6 Automatic 4WD Crew Cab. Comes with the towing package and transmission cooler already. Spent a little bit more then we wanted however I wanted the towing capacity it offered so we could do a little bit more if needed.
We are still thinking a used 13' or 16' egg to start off with. Hoping we can purchase something by spring to start the new year with.

Good choice, and only a year old! The Expedition we bought in 2014 was a 2013 model. It had been a rental, and had 33k miles on it, but so far it has performed flawlessly. And like your truck, it came with a towing packagewe didn't know at the time we were destined to tow anything, much less an 'egg'.

Thanks to everyone!
This forum and everyones help in this thread has been indispensable in choosing a tow vehicle and now our first travel trailer purchase.
Bought a 1983 Scamp that was local, thought we would need to travel to buy one but it was only 1/2 hour from our home for pickup.
Now we can spend some time this winter getting ready. Although I might do a shakedown run over the weekend, somewhere we can plug in a heater.
Soon to see you on the road.

Lots and lots of nice state park campgrounds in PA. When they open in early spring, you will have a ball. Congrats, Carl

We are at Florys in Ronks PA for the night. Cold and windy but plugged in and electric heater running. Had to pay extra because of the heater.

Our first trip out! We are in Delaware Seashore State Park.
Everything is working out great and have met a few campers here. I will say that the 13' "egg" does get a lot of looks.
Can't say enough good things about how much this forum has helped from finding a tow rig to buying the trailer.
Thanks to everyone!

That picture was taken across the inlet so its a little deceiving, here is a picture of when we arrived.

I looked it up on campsite photos. Didn't look as bad as I thought, but it's not on our wish list.

Seems like a lot of seaside campgrounds are pretty closely packed- expensive real estate. We love to stay at South Carlsbad State Beach in CA, and sites are pretty close there, too. But somehow, with the vast ocean in front of you, it doesn't feel crowded. Always a quiet place to walk away from the hubbub of campground activity.
Sounds like a great beginning!

One of our favorites is Huntington Beach SC, sites laid out in loops with some trees and a boardwalk to the beach. A few favorite State Parks in Florida that are on the ocean too.
