Hi ...

Hi All,

New member here from Toronto.

My dad bought a used Trillium (from 70s?) when I was in my teens. I really liked the trailer, though mostly may parents used/use it to roam around the warmer states for a few weeks during the winter.

I would really like to get a FG trailer for my family now, we have a 2yo son and another baby boy on the way. Maybe awhile before I can swing the trailer, but it's fun to read about the issues and keep an eye on the classifieds.

Cheers,

- Derek

Welcome, Derek! A small Trillium, Boler, or similar with bunks is a great set-up for a family of four. Wish we had started when our kids were that young!

Now is actually a great time to start looking- you missed the buyer's frenzy of spring and early summer. I started looking around this time and found a good deal on a used Scamp in October.

Just make sure you have a vehicle up to the task. A fairly basic 13'er will typically weigh 1500-1800 pounds once you load it up.

Hi Derek,

We bought our first trailer, our new to us Casita, in November, 2015. Love it. We are empty nesters. Had many great vacations with our girls when they were growing up. Still, wish I would have discovered RVing and egg campers when they were younger. Wishing you the best with your search and many happy travels.

Take care,

Dean

We had a 75 boler for a couple of years before upgrading to our current rig. We loved the egg, especially with its bunk bed which were able to fit both of my kids (< 50 pounds).

Good luck with your search, you and your family will love it!
