Going to retire in under 2 years and plan on traveling through out the usa, want to try that route 66 drive before I'm too old to drive and see the california coast.

Welcome to the forum, Scott.

Do you plan to go it alone or with someone? What is your camping experience?

Do you plan to tow with a vehicle you already have? If so, pull the owners manual and find what the tow rating and the maximum tongue weight are.

A large part of the question is what do you need and what can you do without; this being in regard to day to day living. Some require more, and some require less.

I think your best information here will come from those who full time. You may not want to live in the trailer full time, but you are talking about an extended trip.

Good luck with the search. The adventure begins here.

Drop me a line before you go, I've been on it a lot. You'll need good guides and books so you don't waste your time. The is a lot of info on here in past posts. David in Fresno and Sonora. ( I'm flying out the door right now.)

What a great start to your retirement years that will be! You won't be too old for a very long time to come

Welcome, Scott! Exciting adventures lie ahead!

As to getting old, use retirement as an opportunity to refocus on health, diet, and exercise. Travel and camping are a great way to do that! My mother drove her class B camper from Maryland to Arizona and back last year, alone, at 89 years old. She takes the driving slow, 200-250 miles every other day.

Best wishes in your "egg hunt"!
