Hello, my hubby and I just bought a 1993 Amerigo, am I correct in saying that only the earlier models were fiberglass? The ad stated that it was a 19' but, when I google Amerigo it says the 19' has two axles our only has one. Here is a picture of it, if someone could give us more information on what we have that would be great.

We have several active Amerigo owners on the forum right now and a couple are in the process of renovating their trailers. Interesting… It's definitely not the Amerigo we know and love here...

...and it's not molded fiberglass construction, which is the main focus of this forum. Don't know if the same company made yours, perhaps under different ownership,…???

There was also a very popular Amerigo truck slide in camper, It also had a flip up rear end.

In answer to your question about one year ago, I may be able to shed some light on your Amerigo camper.

Amerigo started out as a truck camper company in 1970. They increased their line to 5th wheels, camper trailers, and park models until 1977 when they ceased production. The camper trailers made during that time were a fiberglass shell. In 1991, they got back into the RV market by producing 5th wheels and camper trailers that had a standard aluminum siding skin but only lasted until the 1993 model year, then ceased production for good. During 1993, the widths of the camper trailers were 6' 8" wide as compared to 8' for previous models. So, if your trailer is 8' wide, it is from a previous year than 1993. If not, it is a 1993 model. Also, the 18' and 19' models had dual axles, whereas the 14, 16, and 16.5 foot models are single axle. I hope this helps.

Thank you Dennis, ours has only one axle, the title says 1993, we will be selling it in the spring and getting a little bit bigger camper, we love the Snap 'n' Nap but it is a little too small.

Yes, Beth, they can be small even though the Snap N Nap feature gives some additional room. I just purchased a 1993 18' double axle that I am refurbishing from the chassis up so I have the opportunity to create some additional space based upon the features I want to add. Good luck on your sale and getting a larger RV.
