Hi from North Carolina

My husband and I are new to this site - have been reading as much as we can find about fiberglass travel trailers. We think we are interested in a 16 ft trailer, but have not actually seen one in person - in April we are going to see a 16' Scamp that someone is willing to show us. Scamp directed us to this person and we are anxious to see what these trailers really look like. We do not feel comfortable buying any trailer without actually seeing what a type looks like in person. We think a used one is probably the way we will go and we realize any of these trailers go quickly once the notice is out that one is for sale - so figure it is best to see one prior to settling on a particular type/model. We are open to looking at different models/types. Any helpful thoughts/suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Hi from North Carolina

Welcome to the wonderful world of small, lightweight fiberglass trailers!

You are wise to seek ways to get firsthand knowledge before you buy. You might consider visiting a fiberglass egg rally. Then you could see a variety of makes and models, sizes and ages, and talk to their owners. Some have a scheduled "open house" time, but visitors are usually welcome even if not.

The "More" tab at the top links to the 2016 Rally Map. Most have contact information for event coordinators, who could advise you about arranging a visit.

Meantime, keep scouring the ads and follow up on any that interest you.

Thanks

Jon - thanks so much for the suggestion about attending a rally to see different trailers. We are going to look in to doing that.

There is a rally at the KOA in Townsend, Tn April 15, 16 and 17. There will be a variety of fiberglass campers there for you to see and visit.

Welcome to the forum. These folks are in North Carolina. They are just restarting under new management after some customer service issues. Most folks who have one say good things.

Raz, so glad Park Liner is back up and running. I looked at Park Liner before looking at anything else. Many times I wished I had gone the Park Liner route over Casita because it would have been so close to home. The tall ceilings were a definite plus.
