Hi from Ohio

I've been a member for a couple of years, but I have never formerly introduced myself. I'm Todd Reed from Malvern, Ohio. I've owned by 1974 scamp for about two years.

It was in bad shape when I bought it for $800. I towed it home, replaced the floors and tires and gave it a paint job inside and out. I've used it five times this summer/fall.

Right now, it is a glorified tent with no electric or propane. I've had a ball with it and hope to go a few more times before winter sets in.

I did not take before photos. But here are a couple of photos of my recent excursion to Atwood Lake Campground in Mineral City, Ohio.

Not that I have ever been a tent camper, but I would think that calling your Scamp a "glorified tent" is not quite accurate when the rain comes.

Welcome!

Hello Todd, what did you paint it with and how is it holding up? The paint looks wonderful.

Hi Kenny. Any advice on where to camp in your neck of the woods. I've been to Mill Creek Park in Berlin Center.

Steve - the paint is rustoleum topside marine paint. I used a roller to apply. It is very reasonably priced and I applied three coats of each color a year ago. I garage the trailer, therefore it's only been in the sun for about 20 days. The paint is holding up well. Only one chip due to road rocks. Here is a link to the paint.

Smile Glad to meet you.

Glad you introduced you self. You have a nice Scamp there! You have done a good job on it - so far. keep us posted. I understand your tent comment...but being able to just open a door and step inside to a snug safe nest beats any tent...Awesome. I have a 13' U Haul, I had it painted, got new spare tire & A/C covers, (Amish made down the road) I just love it!!! Now if I could just decide what I want painted on the tire cover!!! Mine has no propane anymore, but all beds, etc, are intact and in good shape. I live near Millersburg, I took it to Cook Forest State Park in Pa and are heading to WV for 10 glorious days real soon. Many more to come I pray.... keep rolling jan

Jan..I'm in your area several times a year covering games against Hiland and Garaway. Millersburg and the surrounding communities are beautiful. I've been wanting to go over to Cook Forest. How is it?

Hi! Nothing wrong with simplicity. No law says you must have water lines and gas lines.
