Hi from sunny South Africa

Hi there,
My name is Johann and I'm from South Africa.
Just bought a 1963 Roamer Rand Fibreglass caravan:

These are becoming quite rare in SA, so I'm glad I got it.
Cheers,
Johann

Hi Johann, very nice unit. Would love to see interior pics. What kind of vechicle do you use to tow it.

Hi Rick,

Thanks, I will tow it with my Nissan Juke, but from time to time, also tow it with my 1975 VW Bus, almost restored (about 2 to 3 weeks TO GO) the VW Bus is the reason I bought it, it's period applicable, and light enough to tow with the 2.0 Aircooled engine.
I will take some interior pictures over the weekend, and post, here's one more from the outside:

It is small, only weighing in at 520kg

Regards,
Johann

Welcome to FGRV Johann,

How small is it?
Actual measurements would help us on the other side of the world understand it better. How big is the "add a room" or attached tent.

And some pix of it being towed by the VW. We tow our Uhaul with a Eurovan but hope someday to show it in VW shows with a '68 VW pickup.

Very cool and welcome!

Hi all,
Thanks for the kind words and welcome-ing.
I bought it unseen, and will fetch it on Friday, from Johannesburg, which is about 200miles from me.
Once this is done, I will take some measurements as well as pictures of the interior.
Thanks,
Johann

Interior pics - some...

Hi all,

Just a couple of interior pics to get you all back on my case:
The double bed arrangement:

The full lenght cupboard:

A interior gas lamp light.... as it is not connected anymore and converted to AC, I'm thinking of moving it to the outside as a porch light:

That's all for now.

Welcome to FB Johann. Nice little unit. We get a few South Africans here in North Dakota working at farms in your off season. Also some get married and stay. One works at a local service/gas station delivering propane.

Johann, thanks for posting the pictures! We ARE an international community and we welcome anyone with an all molded towable. But, to see one with the door "on the wrong side" is totally neato!

The "after" pics

Hi all,
So, as planned and promised, I finished the interior revamp of the caravan to use as a photobooth at our wedding this past Saturday.
Here's some pics:

Love it! We've got to get back to SA. I've got friends there, and, well, we know at least ONE person with a trailer now!
