Hi all!

My sweetheart and I just bought an 18ft 1982 Toyota Sunrader and are super excited to get our hands dirty and make our ride clean! It's in pretty great shape, but we're going to do some extra awesome work to get her where we want her to be.

I'm mostly combing forums for lived experience and advice. I'm eager to see what y'all can share about fiberglass work as we consider cutting her apart and stuffing her like an oreo so we can get 4 extra inches of head room for my sweetheart, the tall one. (I can personally do acrobatics in the darn thing - it's perfect for me!).

We're also looking into raising her, at some point making her 4x4 and 4 days into owning her she's almost totally gutted.

We'll be working from now until July sometime when we hope to strike out for a year long 'splorin trip.

I recall a buddy with a Sunnrader - not really sure that was molded fiberglass. Could be, as it was too early to be a composite wall. Need some pics posted.

Sounds like a great unit. It's definitely molded fiberglass but not a towable, which is the main focus of this forum. There are a number of current or former Sunrader owners here, so you might get some advice. I believe there is another forum dedicated just to Sunraders. Someone may be along to give you the name or link. You would certainly get more help there, especially about chassis and drivetrain issues.

Don't "go elsewhere" for everything. I may have an FG trailer but I'd ditch it for a second for a Sunrader.
