Hi, I am Bill (from Boston)

Hello everyone. I'm Bill (from Boston). Just joined this forum. After camping in a tent trailer for over 40 years we purchased a used Casita Liberty just before the pandemic. Mostly local (ish) camping in 2020 due to Covid. Last year (2021) we took our first road trip from Boston to Houston to visit our daughter and family (grandkids). Took 4 weeks round trip. Spent a week in Shenandoah NP on the way home (dry camping).

Planning another trip to Houston this Spring and we'd like to attend our first rally.

If anyone has any tips, we'd like to attend the Bluebonnet Rally in April in Banderos, TX.

Haven't quite figured out how to register and don't want to miss out.

Any tips will be appreciated.

They usually open up registration for the Bluebonnet rally at the end of January, so it should be coming soon.

We frequently make treks between New England and our home in GA, and also between GA and our daughters home in San Antonio. Normally we prefer the Corps of Engineer (COE) parks along the way, half price if you have the senior pass.
If you have the time, check out the Natchez Trace between Memphis and Natchez, MS. Scenic drive with no commercial traffic, and a couple free (no hookup) campgrounds on the way.
If you take the North route to Bandera, there's a nice COE campground in Ennis TX, self claimed Bluebonnet capital of Texas, and close to the Casita hatchery.
If you take a more Southern route, there are several good COE parks on the way, some right next to the Tombigbee river where you can sit outside your camper and watch the boats go by.
