Hi, I am...eagerly awaiting a new Scamp!

We ordered a 16' Scamp in February. We are so very excited to have it after 5+ years of wanting one of these.



We are both wondering if anyone has heard about the status of the factory in all of this turmoil with the CoV-2.

Last I heard on the Scamp Travel Trailers Facebook page they had shut down. In that post a buyer was told there might be a few weeks’ delay in deliveries scheduled for the fall. That was a couple of weeks ago. Haven’t heard confirmation or anything else since. I assume you’ve tried to call?

Good news is Scamp is a well-established company that has weathered major interruptions in the past, including a factory fire in 2006 that took them offline nearly a year. They’ll bounce back after this is done, hopefully sooner than later.

I also ordered a Scamp in mid-February. Wayne is my salesman and I spoke to him a couple of weeks ago. He said sales and office are working from home but no production. So there will be a delay but not sure how long. You could try calling the main # and someone should answer.

Ordered a 16 ‘foot as well. Last conversation with Mika from the Backus plant, which was about two weeks ago. They were waiting for the go ahead to get deliveries permission for inter-state. I’m in Colorado and was suppose to receive mine sometime in April. Unit was completed and ready to go! Based on what’s going on, now who knows?

If I had one sitting at the plant I think I would go get it ASAP. Especially if I already had any money in it. Who knows what could happen? Unless you've just changed your mind about buying a trailer. That would be understandable as well.

As much as I might be tempted to travel to the factory to pick it up. Don’t think I would feel to comfortable in traveling outside my geographical location. Hoping that things may change within the next several months and just wait patiently if and when delivery takes place!
