I have a '74 boler and would like to re-do the interior, the "elephant skin" and have no idea what kind of paint will adhere to it AND look nice. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

I have read that after a thorough cleaning, a latex based paint would work.

My wife painted the elephant skin in our 1985 Scamp with latex paint and it looks very nice.

We used Kilz interior/exterior water based primer first, then Rustoleum Painters Touch ultra cover indoor/outdoor in white. It has held up wonderfully through one summer and the current winter. No peeling, no bubbling, easy to wipe down to clean.
