Wood Stove in a Fiberglass Trailer

Cortez CEO,

As mentioned in other posts, pellets, wood and coal can be used in some of the wood stoves. There are also pressed blocks.

And besides the You Tuber Slim Potatohead who put an awesome home build wood stove in his trailer with stovepipe out the window, there is another You Tuber Elsa Rhae and Barron, who live full time (preferring the snow areas) in their fiberglass trailer, who actually cut a hole in the roof for the stove pipe.

I personally like the idea of a wood stove (and I'm working on my version of one), but I'm probably the outlier here.

In Slim's video where he tests his wood stove in his new camper, it looks like his thermopile fan is ready to take off. Getting the warm air to the floor is a challenge and his fan looks like it might do it!

I haven't been here on the forum in a bit but stopped in to see if folks were discussing these trailers as I've just started seeing the ad in my facebook feed and was curious. And wow, what a ride! I like that they come in a couple of colors.

I hope they do well and that the dealer network situation pans out. I'll be looking for an upgrade to my 13' Burro in a couple years from now but real talk, buying a product named after a conquistador is a hard no for me so I'll keep dreaming on the Escape website.

It's been a long time since we've heard from them and I wonder if they've dropped the idea.
As far as the dealer idea goes that just adds to the price. Bigfoot sells through dealers. Last I heard so does Trillium if they are even still in business. And I've heard that's in the plans for Escape. I'm not in favor.

Bigfoot does, Trillium here in Calgary doesn't, and have never heard anything about Escape doing it either.

I have been an Escape owner for 12 years and start up to date on things. Where did you hear they were going to go to dealers to sell. Heck, they already have more customers than they can produce for very quickly.

I was at a rally a few years ago and a dealer showed up with a new model Trillium, somewhere in the South. I don't remember the details. I do recall I was very unimpressed with the trailer .
I do not claim knowledge that Escape is planning to use dealers, only that it's a rumor I heard and hope is untrue.

There are a couple Trillium dealers and even though the manufacturer here sold moulds to the US guy, it was Tom Young in the US that acquired the copyright to the defunct name. It was likely through this guy you saw the trailer. He did sell through Great West at one time.

Pretty sure Escape has no dealer plans, but who knows in 10 years.

I find this hard to believe, but dealers in 2 states have put in 1.15 million dollars worth of purchase orders for Cortes Campers. Is it actually April 1st?

RV prices and availability being what they are in 2021, that ~$50K price isn't looking so crazy.

I could not get the search to work on the Oregon listing.

Or, the Cortes CEO sent a press release out claiming that they had these orders? Have other charges been resolved?

Looks like he was charged, arrested, bailed out, detained again as a potential flight risk, then released to home detention with an ankle monitor pending the trial:https://www.govinfo.gov/content/pkg/...cr-00491-0.pdf

Irony abounds, the June 2021 Google street-view photo of Kamper Korner RV in Oregon, one of the buyers named in the RV Pro press release, shows a Casita trailer.

I actually read that. A wife from Russia, a security closet with a sliding one way mirror, a B-B gun, a bag of dead mice, $4,000,000. dollars, shoddy internet service, even worse shoddy cell phone service at his house! All found by the FBI, Wow! Your tax dollars at work. The real danger is if their criminal case is as flaky as their bond revocation case was, when it goes to trial he will be found not guilty and released!

I hope to buy one of his campers and I want the sliding one way mirror security cabinet option to keep my money and my guns in.

How is it that RV Pro missed that part? Do they "publish" whatever comes in over the fax machine?

Their entire front page of headlines looks like PR pieces, so pretty much.

Best of all outcomes would be Uncle Sam grabbing his $ (repay us for investigating his "pump and dump") then let him slink away to Russia. We wouldn't have to foot the bill for his incarceration and he could work his magic on Russia's economy.

Lets find him guilty before we jump on him like a pack of hyenas.
