Hi, I am Tim from Nebraska

A few months ago I introduced myself as looking. Well, we just bought a 2007 Casita 17 SD. It will be in our driveway next Saturday for the first time. A new adventure begins.

Do you guys typically purchase insurance for the trailer separate from your vehicle or what? Just asking.

Congratulations on the new Casita! Yes, you need separate insurance for the trailer. You can find companies on the Internet that specialize in trailer insurance. Or you can probably get it through your vehicle insurer but it may not be as comprehensive. You should have it go into effect on the day you are taking possession.

You will be covered under your tow vehicle policy for liability, but it won't cover your trailer or contents.

So, you don't need it by law (at least in the states I know), but I would.
