Hi, I'm Alan from Des Moines Ia.

We have never owned a camper. Looking forward to start with a used fiberglass camper. Retirement is a few years away and we are hoping that we will at that time buy a our dream camper.

Welcome, Alan!

Starting used now is a great idea. You'll have time to gain experience, meet other trailers and their owners, and find out what works for your travel and camping style.

Do you have a vehicle you intend to tow with? That may limit your options.

Best wishes finding a nice starter trailer!

Welcome

Alan, welcome to the forum. I am recently retired and have a Scamp on order. This forum has given me a lot of pleasure and GREAT information. Enjoy!

I lurked on various RV forums for over a decade before biting the bullet. Glad I waited as my ideas kept evolving.

Welcome, Alan!
We decided a couple years ago to quit tent camping so much, and try a small f/g camper. Bought a rear-ended '85 U-Haul and have been putting it back together again off-n-on for the last couple years. [it's a 13' CT]
If that modest-size unit is of interest, and you hope to buy low and fix something up, there's a 13' Burro just to your north, on the SW side of Napier, IA. It's just been sitting there for a long time.... I've stopped by twice, but haven't caught anyone at home either time. It'd be a fixer-upper, but what I could see seemed structurally sound.
