Hi, I'm Anna from Calgary and we just got a 1978 17' Boler

I'm very excited, I think it'll be perfect for our little family. We took it out for a test run this weekend, just camped on our property in the mountains and it was awesome! Everything worked, we were nice and cozy, good times were had by all. Having used it once I realized that the carpet on the floor has got to go. I need to be able to sweep. High on the priority list!

We will have to get the exterior painted and do some work on the inside but it seems in pretty great shape. The first thing I did was tear off the carpet that was glued to the ensolite though and now it's all covered in carpet glue. Any ideas on how to remove it or cover it up?

Here are a couple of the pics from when we were picking it up. We have young kids and are planning on taking the boler across Canada to Ottawa next summer. We've already got a couple of camping trips booked before then and hope to have most kinks worked out before August. I hope to get lots of help from the people here! Any tips and tricks for total noob? I have been reading this forum and there is so.much.information. I'm overwhelmed!

interior!

you can see the carpet on the wall.

ETA - When our oldest was 11 months old we took a road trip to Inuvik. It was pretty amazing but setting up and taking down a tent in pouring rain super sucked. Now that we have two little ones, I said it's a no-go, we need a dry place to sleep. So here we are!

I'm a little embarrassed - it looks better from afar than closer up. The paint is badly peeling and I am pretty sure the stripes are duct tape! But we love it regardless. It will get fixed one day but I suspect not for a while.

Welcome, your Boler looks great. Nearly the oldies need work and at least you are getting out camping while you ponder what needs to be done.

If I had to strip it all down and redo it all from scratch, we wouldn't be going camping for a really long time it'll have to be done bit by bit. Triage.
