Hi, I'm Maureen

Hi there! I am a new owner of an old 1984 Nissan Sunrader Shorty. I actually flew down to Los Angeles and drove the little beast back to Anchorage AK without mishap. The condition of the inside is pretty foul, but I have been gearing up to tear-out, re-build and re-insulate the vehicle to Alaska standards, working in segments from back to front (The field-mice mostly destroyed the back half...). Although I am decent at carpentry, I am completely green when it comes to RV's and RV systems, and have no friends "In the know" who can help me to figure out which systems actually work and HOW each system works. Of course, replacing systems now during the tear-down would be easier than dealing with it later...
YouTube has been marginally helpful, and I have found a few manuals online, but what I really need is a forum with a few tech-savvy folk or, better yet, an owner of a 80's toyhome or similar vehicle in Alaska who can show me what all of these knobs and switches do before I blow something up.
Failing that, could anyone point me to a good source that would cover simple issues like starting a furnace, dealing with black/greywater systems, 3-way fridges, etc...?
Anyway, Howdy. I'm Maureen, and I'm a mini-motorhome addict...

Hi Maureen & welcome...there are plenty of threads here that cover most of the topics you discussed, just try using the Google search instead of the site search...I have found this site to be very useful...post your questions and you will usually get plenty of helpful answers

Welcome to the group Maureen, a lot of your questions can be answered here as many things are the same in trailers and motorhomes. You may also want to join the Sunrader forum for more direct questions.
