An improperly installed fridge is a safety hazard, especially if it's not sealed tightly against the shell. Do not run it on
propane until you get this corrected.
Unfortunately RV initial quality control is often lacking, and Scamp is no exception. They do have a decent reputation for working with customers to make things right. I would do some thorough testing of all systems to uncover anything else that needs attention. Best to do it before you leave the Backus area, but if not, call Scamp. They will sometimes authorize local 3rd-party repairs of minor issues, but this might warrant a trip back to the factory.
I don't know if they can upgrade to the larger fridge at this point, because the cabinet has already been cut for the smaller one, but it never hurts to ask. I was actually surprised to see on the website the 6.7cf fridge is now an option on 16'ers. That's another of many recent changes at Eveland's. It's almost dizzying given the glacial pace of change in the past!
