Smile Hi, we are Dave and Jan from Colorado

We are searching for a small sized used camper. We have just begun our research. We have only been inside one 13 footer--too small for us. We have looked on line at the casitas and eggcampers. We have a budget of $8K, but if we found the perfect near new condition would go up to $12,000. Some of the features we want--refrigerator, toilet and shower, A/C optional, no permanent bunk beds, tv hookups, etc. Really like eggcamper--

If you like the Eggcamper, you might also like the Burro which is more often available. Burro is no longer in business but their trailers from the 80's are out there and still performing after all of these years.

Welcome to the group:

You might mention what you will be towing with as that may have an impact on what you can choose from.

Rigs bigger than a 13', with a full bath/shower can not only get heavy fast (i.e. BigFoot), and a used one in decent shape can quickly demolish that budget, esp. at this time of year when prices are peaking.

Thanks for all the hints. Our tow vehicle is no problem--Ford F250 diesel (we were planning to tow our 5th wheel with it, but decided to leave it in Texas where we spend 2 or 3 months in the winter.

It sounds like now is the time that the prices are highest--we will look if we see something, and hope to find something in the winter.

Actually, fall can be a better time to buy than winter since a few people store their trailers for the winter if they don't find a buyer before that time. By fall, since we "bargain" shoppers, selection can be more limited so you'll be making a choice to limit your choices but we just accept that.

Hi Jan, to FiberglassRV, we're glad you're here

With that tow rig and the fact you were planning to tow a 5th wheel, perhaps you'd like to look for a used Scamp 5er, Escape 5.0 or a Bigfoot 5er. All would give you what you desire as far as layout. Just something to consider.

Best of luck on the egg hunt!
