We are from Asheville,NC. We researched campers and the obvious choice was a fiberglass camper. After looking high and low we found a 16 foot 2002 Scamp in pretty good shape. We paid 9500.00 for it and have been on a couple local trips, with our dog Frida.So far it tows well behind our Toyota Sienna.It has the front bath, side dinette and which is the layout we wanted. This is an amazing resource for tips and information, so thanks to the folks that maintain the site.

I'm not too far either, Blacksburg VA, and I host the Hungry Mother Rally in October, about 2 1/2 hrs from Asheville. Love our mountains.

We have the same Scamp as you, but a 2001, and we love it. What I like most about it is that we can leave the bed up all the time as we have the side dinette to sit at. We have a piece of 4" foam (one-piece, cut to fit) that we put on top of the cushions for the bed to make it extra comfy (highly recommended!). We also took the leg off of the big table so that we have more room under the bed for storage.

I've got the same Scamp model down in Hendersonville. Amazing how many of these fibreglass campers there are in the 'neighborhood'. My wife always comments that we rarely see these campers on the road or in the campgrounds....
