We are proud owners of a 1985 Fiber Stream. We purchased it about a year ago and spent 6 months fixing her up. We now travel the country fulltime in our camper. We have 4 exciting months under our belt and have learned so much over the last year. We look forward to all the lessons to come. Here are some Before and After photos of our little home

Thanks! We really put our heart and soul into it. As far as experiences on the road, we have been very pleased with the versatility our trailer offers us. The only drawbacks have been condensation issues due to poor insulation on the ceiling (just the fiberglass shell), setting up the bed from the dinette is a bit difficult since there is no space around the bed to put the sheets on (knew this going into it),and our two 100 watt solar panels can't keep up with the draw from the fridge (limits boondocking and dry camping). The previous owner replaced the propane refrigerator with a new electric and it just drains our battery, we look forward to replacing it with propane and taking steps to better insulate and reduce draft in our camper. That being said, we are absolutely loving fulltiming in our Fiber Stream. Some things just take experience to identify ways to improve. We are from the south so we didn't think much about how cold the desert nights would be when we were sweating in the heat! We have a lot to learn still.

Correct! We have two 100 watt solar panels mounted to the roof and a 200 amp hour battery. We picked up a generator since I was last on the thread (sorry for the delay) to run the refrigerator or AC while boondocking. We got a Honda 2000 from a fellow RVer who was selling for $600 barely used!

Just FYI on cold weather camping...Use a light layer of petroleum jelly over all of your face, neck, core, arms, legs, feet, hands. It's a swimmers trick to stave off hypothermia. Also carry the disposable handwarmers and if you are cold thru the petro jelly start the handwarmers going and tuck in your armpits. Wear a nightcap, such as a fleece or knit cap or balaclava, and warm socks. No cotton. All my Boy Scouts knew my cold weather camping speech by heart and could roar "Cotton KILLS!" at the appropriate places. We used to take our FL boys camping in the N GAmountains in February and March and had to deal with cold weather and even snow, not to mention the damp, piercing cold of south Central FL. The 1996 MLK Birthday Backpack trip we did had us camping along the west bank of the Kissimmee River at 17*F. Did you have a window cracked at night? Yes, I know it would let a little cold air in but it would've reduced the condensation, probably. I think.
Sounds like you've had aa wonderful couple months. I can hardly wait for my entry into the RV owners/campers association!
